Education Ministry assures smooth SHS placement process

The Ministry of Education has assured parents and students of a smooth resolution process under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), as thousands visit centres nationwide to secure Senior High School admissions.

This comes after the release of placements, which saw over 107,000 candidates miss out on automatic school assignments.

Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Clement Apaak, who oversaw proceedings at the GNAT Hall in Accra on Friday, September 19, assured that all cases would be resolved before the official reporting date of October 18.

“As a ministry and a government, we will do our best to meet the needs of every student. While not everyone may secure their first choice, there are equally good schools available to meet their aspirations,” he said.

Dr. Apaak explained that the October 18 reporting date was set to allow sufficient time to address placement challenges and urged parents to remain patient and cooperate with officials.

The Ministry added that it will continue monitoring centres across the country to ensure all qualified students are placed before the academic year begins.
