
The Black Stars held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday with 12 players as preparations intensify for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali.
The team officially opened camp in Accra, with the squad training together for the first time. The team will complete a final session on Tuesday, September 2, before departing for N’Djamena.
Among the players who featured in Monday’s session were Antoine Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Ibrahim Osman, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jerry Afriyie, Joseph Anang, Christopher Bonsu Baah, Benjamin Asare, Jonas Adjetey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Jordan Ayew, and Gideon Mensah.
The remaining players are expected to join camp by Monday night, while winger Joseph Paintsil is scheduled to link up with the group on Tuesday morning.
Ghana will face Chad on Thursday, September 4, before returning home to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The Black Stars currently top Group I with 15 points from six matches, positioning them strongly in their bid to qualify for a fifth FIFA World Cup.
