The Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, Abena Osei-Asare, has organised a free vacation class programme for more than 2,400 students in her constituency.
The maiden edition, held from August 4 to 29, 2025, was designed to help pupils build confidence, improve communication skills, and reinforce knowledge acquired during the school term.
Ms. Osei-Asare explained that the initiative was introduced to keep children meaningfully engaged during the holidays while preventing a decline in their academic performance.
She commended teachers and parents for their dedication to the programme, stressing the vital role of educators in nurturing students despite existing infrastructure challenges.
Looking ahead, the MP underscored the need for greater teacher motivation and improved educational infrastructure, noting that government must provide a more conducive learning environment.
The vacation classes add to Osei-Asare’s ongoing interventions in the constituency, which include scholarships, school infrastructure projects, and the distribution of learning materials, reaffirming her commitment to advancing education in Atiwa East.
