A third suspect linked to the murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has reportedly died following a brief illness.
Stephen’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, confirmed the development in an interview with Accra-based Citi News, noting that he received the information from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer handling the case.
“Yesterday we went to court, and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed on. I was told by the Police CID, the one who is in charge of the case. We thank God that our brother has started seeking justice for himself,” Mr. Amoako stated.
The suspect’s death adds a new layer to an already sensitive case that has captured public attention since the officer’s killing.
Mr. Amoah’s family has repeatedly called for speedy and thorough investigations to ensure accountability and closure.
Police have yet to release an official statement confirming the incident.
Mr. Amoah was declared missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving his home to meet a friend at Ashongman Estate. His charred remains were later found on July 9 at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, prompting an intensive police probe and manhunt, which led to the arrest of three suspects.
