Justice Pwamang acts as Chief Justice

Chairman of the committee

Supreme Court judge Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang has been appointed to act in the stead of Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie for ten days.

The arrangement follows the absence of Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, who has been serving as Acting Chief Justice since the suspension of Justice Gertrude Torkornoo in April 2025.

In a statement, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie announced that he will be outside the country from Monday, August 18, to Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The development has been formally communicated through a circular distributed to all justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, as well as heads of divisions and administrative units. Copies of the notice were also sent to members of the Judicial Council, the General Legal Council, and the Acting Judicial Secretary.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, in the circular, extended his compliments and affirmed Justice Pwamang’s temporary leadership of the judiciary during the period.
