Afrobeats superstar Davido isn’t letting anyone spoil his joy after what he describes as a fairytale wedding to his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland.
The couple’s lavish ceremony, reportedly costing $3.7 million, became the talk of Africa, drawing celebrities, dignitaries, and music lovers from across the globe.
But amid the glitter and applause, a pocket of online critics had plenty to say.
Some nitpicked his outfit choices, others offered unsolicited “should’ve, could’ve” takes, and a few simply seemed determined to find flaws in the day.
Davido, however, is having none of it. In a social media post oozing pride and satisfaction, he fired back at the naysayers:
“We had an amazing wedding. Perfect, in fact! Me and my wife’s body still dey sweet us like this. Nothing una fit do, say, or make up will ever change the fact that we had a fairytale wedding, one of the best days, if not the best day, of our lives. The whole world celebrated us!”
The post was met with waves of support, including from international rap queen Nicki Minaj.
Nicki not only congratulated the couple but also acknowledged the effort and grandeur of the occasion.
And if Davido’s words are anything to go by, no amount of online chatter is about to dim that glow.
