Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to shut down for maintenance from August 16 to 30

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to 30, 2025.

In a statement signed by Ministry Spokesperson Richmond Rockson, the shutdown—requested by the Ghana National Gas Company—will involve inspections, repairs, and upgrades aimed at improving the plant’s efficiency and reliability.

Gas supply will be temporarily suspended during this period, but the Ministry assured that measures, including the use of alternative fuel sources, have been put in place to minimize any impact on electricity supply nationwide.

The Ministry also promised to provide regular updates and reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply.
