Fire destroys four shops in Bibiani

A devastating fire gutted four shops in Nantwikumye, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The blaze, which broke out on Sunday, destroyed two dressmaking shops, a cosmetics shop, and a hairdressing salon.

The fire caused the loss of valuable property, including industrial sewing machines, fabrics, cosmetics, artificial hair, cash, and other goods.

Richmond Appiah, Public Relations Officer of the Bibiani Municipal Fire Service, said firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call and managed to bring the fire under control despite its intensity.

Municipal Fire Service Commander, DO2 Enock Tetteh, has since cautioned the public to use proper electrical materials in homes and shops to avoid similar incidents.
