River Parks, one of the leading real estate developers in Nigeria, has highly commended Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for his unwavering support for Ghanaians and Ghanaian-owned businesses operating abroad.
In recognition of his efforts, the Minister was presented with a special plaque and a symbolic key to the facility for championing the interests of Ghanaians in the diaspora.
According to Kojo Ansah Mensah, CEO of River Parks, “The Minister’s attentiveness to the needs of Ghanaians abroad and their businesses deserves major commendation. He follows our progress closely, and our mission heads constantly engage us to understand our challenges. He has played a huge role in facilitating support from the Nigerian government.”
Jona Capital, the developers behind River Parks, along with Mobus Developers — both Ghanaian-owned — have invested over $250 million into Nigeria’s real estate sector, significantly contributing to its economy. They noted that within a few months in office, Mr. Ablakwa has made a notable impact by prioritizing the welfare and growth of Ghanaian enterprises abroad.
This progress stems from his consistent engagement with Ghanaian missions worldwide and his directive to mission heads to actively monitor and report on the needs of citizens and businesses, enabling the state to offer diplomatic support when necessary.
During a recent visit to Abuja’s River Park, the Minister expressed admiration for the massive achievements of Ghanaian business mogul Dr. Sam Jonah, who has developed over 501 hectares into a modern urban park complete with auxiliary facilities, hospitals, a university, and more.
Mr. Ablakwa thanked the developers for the honour and urged them to continue making Ghana proud. He encouraged them to work even harder to promote intra-African trade and help transform the continent.
He further called on all Ghanaians living and working abroad to collaborate with Ghanaian missions, share their challenges and successes, and explore new business opportunities that could uplift the country’s global image and economic prospects.
