Daddy Lumba has never been to a club – Manager reveals [Video]

Highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s manager, Roman Fada, has shared rare insights into the life of the celebrated musician, revealing a deeply private and reflective personality behind the public icon.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Roman Fada described Daddy Lumba as a shy and introverted genius who never stepped foot in a nightclub throughout his life.

“Daddy Lumba’s songs speak deeply to real-life issues. He hardly spoke when going through something—he would rather express it through his lyrics,” Roman said.

“He never partied, never went to a club. He was a quiet man who poured everything into his music.”

According to him, Lumba’s versatility was unmatched. The icon tackled themes of love, heartbreak, spirituality, and personal struggles, yet preferred to let his music speak for him.

“He was a shy person. He only came alive on stage. Off stage, he was an introvert. If you were close to him, he would always advise you to be truthful,” he added.

Roman also described him as jovial and extremely intelligent, revealing that he was even nicknamed “Brilliant” in his youth.

Daddy Lumba passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra. He was 60 years old.
