Mahama urged to condemn Ablekuma North violence

The Head Pastor of Abundant Life Baptist Church in Goaso, Ahafo Region, Rev. Ebenezer Kwame Frimpong, has appealed to President John Mahama to publicly condemn the violence that marred the recent Ablekuma North rerun election and take decisive steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Speaking to Adom News during a church service, Rev. Frimpong expressed concern that violent clashes at just 19 polling stations tarnish Ghana’s democratic image and pose a serious threat to national security.

He urged President Mahama and leaders of the two major political parties—the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP)—to work together to end the cycle of electoral violence.

Rev. Frimpong also encouraged Ghanaians to embrace forgiveness and unity, noting that these values are essential for national development and peaceful coexistence.

He further called on the police to swiftly arrest and prosecute those responsible for the violence, stressing that law enforcement agencies already have sufficient evidence to take action. He believes timely prosecution will serve as a deterrent to future election-related violence.
