Minister urges media to monitor NADMO aid distribution

The Central Regional Minister, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, has urged the media to act as watchdogs in the distribution of relief items provided by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to ensure transparency and fairness.

Speaking after receiving the items from the Director of NADMO’s Inspectorate Division, Amo Yartey, the Minister expressed gratitude to NADMO for its swift response to the plight of residents whose homes were either demolished or collapsed.

He assured that all affected individuals would receive their fair share of the support.

“I appeal to the media to keep eagle eyes on this process to ensure the items reach the right people. We owe it to the victims to make sure they are not shortchanged,” Mr Okyere stated.

The relief supplies include bags of rice, cooking oil, mosquito nets, sachets of Milo, and mattresses.

NADMO says the intervention aims to provide immediate support to 124 internally displaced persons (IDPs) identified within the Cape Coast Metropolis.

According to Central Regional NADMO Director, Kwesi Dawood, arrangements are underway, in collaboration with the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, to temporarily house the victims at the under-construction Anaafo Market, following the Minister’s directive.
