Karim Zito could be appointed Kotoko Head Coach – Sarfo Duku hints

-

Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has hinted that Karim Zito could be appointed as the club’s permanent manager ahead of the next football season.

Zito, a former player of the Porcupine Warriors, took charge of the team on an interim basis following the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Since his appointment, Kotoko has remained unbeaten and secured a place in the final of the FA Cup — a feat that has strengthened his chances of landing the job permanently.

Despite growing speculation about Zito’s future, Duku clarified that the club’s management has not yet held formal discussions regarding the appointment of a new head coach.

“We (management) have not considered employing a substantive head coach. We are startled by the names being circulated in the media, as we have not had any discussions with any coaches,” Duku told Akoma FM.

“In football, anything is possible. Karim Zito could take over as head coach, or a new coach could be chosen, but this would only happen after the season and after multiple talks with the coaches and essential stakeholders,” he added.

Asante Kotoko now shifts its focus to the Ghana Premier League, where they will face Dreams FC in a Matchday 31 fixture. The game is scheduled to be played at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday, with kickoff set for 15:00 GMT.
