-

Ghana’s Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, has expressed optimism about the Black Satellites’ chances of securing a spot at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The national U-20 team is set to face host country, Egypt, in a crucial quarterfinal clash at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) today.

The match, scheduled for 15:00 GMT at the New Suez Stadium, will determine which side advances to the semifinals and earns automatic qualification for the World Cup, set to take place in Chile later this year.

Speaking to Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Mr. Adams, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency, commended the team’s performance so far and expressed hope for a successful outcome.

“The team has been good so far,” Mr. Adams said.

“This U-20 team has been a good team, and I just pray that luck will be on their side so that we will be one of the teams to qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Chile, which will be played later this year.”

He concluded with a message of encouragement: “I wish them well, and I know they will do Ghana proud.”
