Kotoko not better than us – Berekum Chelsea coach after FA Cup exit

-

Berekum Chelsea head coach, Samuel Boadu, says Asante Kotoko were not better than his side despite suffering elimination from the FA Cup.

Boadu’s side lost 1-0 to the Porcupine Warriors in the semifinals of the FA Cup on Sunday at the TNA Park.

Albert Amoah’s lone goal in the 82nd minute sealed the win for the Reds.

Speaking after the game, Boadu—who won the FA Cup back-to-back with Hearts of Oak—said Kotoko did not do anything better than his team.

According to him, Chelsea failed to take their chances, which led to the defeat.

“They [Asante Kotoko] did not do anything better than my team. They scored us,” he said after the game.

“Goalscoring is about opportunity. We got it and didn’t score, but they got it and did,” he added.

Asante Kotoko will face lower-tier side Golden Kick in the final of the 2024/25 FA Cup at the University of Ghana Stadium on June 15.
