More than 60 dogs of two breeds and different ages were present at the Ghana Trade Fair Centre on Saturday, July 28, 2018, to compete in various categories of the conformation show.

the show had each participating dog evaluated by an FCI certified judge from Russia, Markov Vasily.

The dogs were judged on their conformation to the respective breed standards by checking their teeth, head, legs, etc and their movement.

The event was organised by The Rottweiler Club of Ghana and The German Shepherd Dog Club of Ghana under the auspices of the Kennel Union of Ghana

Hundreds of spectators turned up to watch the pet dogs as they rambled around with their owners.

Winners of the competition were given prizes together with certificates to prove their participation in the maiden edition of the event.

In an interview with the advocator for the Rottweiler Club of Ghana who also doubles as the CEO of “Kernel 99”, Mr Stephen Kwarteng, he encouraged Ghanaians to pay attention to owning pets.

According to him, owning a pet can push boredom away from home as pet dogs tend to boost the health of their owners.
