Moroccan referee Mustapha Kechchaf has been appointed to officiate Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against The Gambia in Accra.
Kechchaf will take charge of the Group C encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, 29 September.
His compatriot Lahsen Azgaou has been appointed as Assistant Referee I, while Tunisian Yassine Saadaoui will serve as Assistant Referee II.
Another Tunisian, Amir Loucif, has been named the Fourth Official for the fixture.
Liberia’s Sekou Wieh Konneh will serve as Match Commissioner, with Nigeria’s Abel Baba appointed as Referee Assessor.
Ghana’s Danny Adotey will oversee media operations in his role as Broadcast Venue Manager.
The Black Stars head into the game looking to recover from their disappointing start to the qualifiers after suffering a 2-0 defeat by Ivory Coast in Bouake last Thursday.
Ghana were punished by goals from Malick Yalcouye and Franck Kessie as they began their Group C campaign without a point.
Carlos Queiroz’s side will now have to respond against The Gambia, who will also be aiming to strengthen their position in the group.
The fixture is particularly significant for Ghana as they attempt to secure a place at the 2027 AFCON finals after missing out on the 2025 tournament in Morocco.
