Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has disclosed that head coach Carlos Queiroz encouraged his players to be more aggressive and push for victory during their 2026 FIFA World Cup clash against England.
The Black Stars faced the Three Lions on Tuesday at Boston Stadium in their second Group L match of the tournament in North America.
After a tightly contested encounter, the game ended goalless, leaving both sides level on four points.
Speaking after the match, Sibo revealed that Queiroz sensed uncertainty in the England camp and urged his players to take advantage.
“At half-time, the coach told us that England were nervous and that we should push for a win,” Sibo, the Real Oviedo midfielder said after the game.
“And that’s what we tried to do, but we are happy with the draw,” the midfielder added.
Ghana’s positive approach after the interval changed the complexion of the game, with England appearing increasingly cautious as they sought to protect their position in the group.
The result leaves Ghana and England joint leaders of Group L heading into the final round of group-stage fixtures on Saturday.
England will take on Panama, while the Black Stars face Croatia, with both teams aiming to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the World Cup.
