Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has acknowledged the scale of the challenge awaiting the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, describing their group as one of the most demanding in the tournament.

The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia for the global showpiece, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking on the All Out Football podcast, the Manchester City forward admitted the task ahead will be difficult but expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to compete.

“It’s going to be tough, but I’m looking forward to it,” Semenyo said.

Ghana are scheduled to intensify preparations in May, beginning with a friendly against Mexico before concluding their pre-tournament fixtures against Wales on June 2.

Making their fifth appearance at the World Cup, the Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17. They will then face England on June 23, before rounding off the group stage against Croatia on June 27.

Off the pitch, attention will also turn to the official unveiling of new head coach Carlos Queiroz, scheduled to take place on Thursday in Accra.
