The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the opening of the WAEC portal for the uploading of school choices of candidates for the 2026 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
In a directive dated Monday, August 24, 2026, the GES said the portal will be available from Monday, August 24, to Thursday, August 27, for heads of Junior High Schools (JHS) to capture and upload candidates’ school selection data.
The exercise forms part of preparations for the 2026 placement of candidates into senior high schools and other second-cycle institutions.
The Service said headteachers who have not yet completed the uploading of candidates’ school choices on the CSSPS portal for pre-testing are required to do so by the close of work on Monday, August 24, before proceeding to capture and upload the data on the WAEC portal.
According to the GES, the WAEC portal will allow the same username and password to be used simultaneously on multiple computers.
This, it said, will enable schools with large numbers of candidates to capture and upload data concurrently and complete the exercise more efficiently.
“Metro, Municipal and District Directors of Education, together with Examination Coordinators, have been directed to closely supervise and monitor the exercise to ensure that all eligible candidates are duly captured, verified and submitted within the stipulated period,” the statement added.

Regional Directors of Education have also been asked to communicate the directive to all relevant schools and ensure strict compliance.
The latest directive is part of the GES’ preparations for the 2026 school placement exercise, with schools expected to complete the data capture and submission within the specified deadline.
