An Accra District Court has discharged thirteen (13) persons accused of murdering Army Major, Maxwell Adam Mahama.
The 13 were part of a group of 32 persons who were standing trail for their involvement in the lynching of the Army Captain who was later promoted to a Major after the incident.
Nineteen (19) persons are now before the court for the murder.
The thirteen were discharged after prosecutors handling the case informed the court they intend letting the 13 go while pressing charges against the 19.
DSP George Amegah told the court that some of the discharged persons will be serving as witnesses before the court.
The 19 are facing the charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
Major Maxwell Adam Mahama was murdered with broken blocks, cudgels and shot several times by a marauding mob in the Upper Denkyira district following a false alarm that he was an armed robber.
Maj. Mahama was buried on June 9, 2017. He was posthumously promoted from Captain to Major by President Akufo-Addo on the recommendation of the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. O.B Akwa.

where is the law in Ghana? What a country like this so are they going to let those people go free? Major Mahama may your blood torment everyone who is involved in your killing. Ghana is becoming a lawless country.
