Ten rooms of a 14-bedroom house at Bebianiha near Dunkwa-on-Offin in the Central Region have been destroyed after a fire swept through the building.
The blaze also threatened nearby buildings before firefighters from the Dunkwa-on-Offin Fire Station arrived and brought the situation under control.
After nearly two hours of firefighting, the blaze was brought under control and completely extinguished at about 11:52pm.
Although the fire caused extensive damage to the house, firefighters managed to save four of its 14 rooms and successfully prevented the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.
The incident has left the majority of the house severely damaged, with only four rooms spared from the destruction.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established and remains under investigation.
