Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, says there is nothing wrong with Freddie Blay’s decision to purchase buses for each of the party’s 275 constituencies.
Criticisms came from four-time failed NPP National Chair aspirant, Stephen Ntim who has said if Freddie Blay really loved the NPP, he would not have waited for elections to bring in the buses.
The 275 buses, according to Mr Blay’s campaign team, form part of a plan put before the party by Mr Blay as a means of creating self-sustaining constituencies.

The buses, according to the team, will be given to STC to add to its operational fleet as a leader in long-distance transportation.
A bank account is expected to be opened in the name of each constituency so that as the STC works with the buses it pays some monies to the constituencies to be used for running party activities, his campaign team has explained.

But Mr Boadu rejected claims it amounts to an abuse of incumbency for a governing party to go into commercial ventures as Freddie Blay has done.
According to him, discussions were held with the NPP and that the party “agreed and Okayed the deal and therefore does not see anything wrong with his decision.

“I really don’t see anything wrong with Freddie Blay’s decision. I can tell you that even some of us including me signed for the contract to come into reality. It is a great move and must be appreciated” he said on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Friday at Koforidua.
Mr Boadu urged that the candidate must be applauded and not criticized for his job-creation initiative.
