Zito eyes FA Cup title, vows not to underrate Golden Kick

-

Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has stated that he is determined to clinch the 2024/25 FA Cup title, emphasizing that his team will not take Golden Kick lightly despite the lower-tier status of their opponents.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to face Golden Kick in the FA Cup final on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the showdown, Zito stressed the importance of treating every opponent with respect.

“You can’t underrate any club until you get what you want,” he told reporters. “I don’t care whether they are in Division One or not — I don’t care. I am going there for the cup.”

“Whoever comes to the final, I am going to deal with it, I am going to fight for it, and I will make sure we beat them and take the cup,” he added.

Asante Kotoko secured their place in the final after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea in the semifinals at the TNA Stadium. Golden Kick, meanwhile, pulled off a major upset by defeating Attram De Visser 3-1.

Before the final, Kotoko will focus on their Ghana Premier League campaign, where they face Dreams FC on Sunday in a Matchday 31 clash at the Tuba Astro Turf.
