
Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has condemned the fatal stabbing of a student at Kinbu Senior High School, describing the incident as both tragic and senseless.
In a statement issued on Friday, the MP expressed deep sorrow and shock over the incident, which occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2025, and resulted in the death of a 15-year-old first-year student, Addib Alhassan.
“I strongly condemn this act of violence, and I will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to ensure that thorough investigations are swiftly conducted and that justice is served,” she stated.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings emphasized that schools must remain safe spaces for learning and development. She called on both education and security authorities to urgently review and strengthen safety measures in all schools.
“This tragedy must be a wake-up call for all stakeholders in the education and security sectors to prevent such incidents from recurring,” she added.
She extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, students, staff, and the entire Kinbu SHS community.
The MP also pledged to work closely with the Ghana Education Service, school authorities, and security agencies to improve safety and mental health support structures in schools across her constituency.
The Ghana Police Service has yet to provide full details on the incident as investigations remain ongoing.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fatal stabbing occurred during an altercation between Addib Alhassan and a classmate, reportedly following a heated argument. He was initially rushed to the Adabraka Polyclinic and later transferred to the Ridge Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
