The Tamale Dakpema, Naa Bawa Fuseini, and elders of the Dakpema Palace have joined the people of Tamale Central, Dagbon, and the Northern Region in mourning the late Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Alhaji Dr. Murtala Ibrahim Muhammed.

In a tribute, the chief described Murtala as a devoted Muslim and selfless statesman whose life was defined by faith, humility, and service to humanity.

His legacy, the Dakpema noted, was visible in development projects across his constituency, from clinics and boreholes to recreational fields that fostered unity.

Murtala’s passion for education, the chief added, led him to introduce sponsorship packages for medical students, a gesture that transformed lives and secured the future of many families.

“Ghana has lost an illustrious son, the National Democratic Congress a great asset, and Parliament an industrious and passionate member,” the tribute said.

The Dakpema prayed for Allah to grant the late minister Jannatul Firdaus and for Tamale Central to be blessed with a successor who will uphold his legacy.

Murtala Muhammad was among the eight people who perished in the August 6 military helicopter crash.
