Young people abusing leaders on social media should be cause for concern – Pastor

The growing trend of young people taking to social media platforms to abuse leaders in society poses a danger to the country’s future.

According to Pastor Joseph Hector Edusei, Coordinating Overseer for Ashanti Zone A, Deeper Life Ministries, there is the need for collective efforts to regulate social media use and impose strict measures to curb the menace.

Speaking at the annual national community congress of the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship at Brofoyedu, Pastor Edusei emphasized that it is a curse for any youth to insult elderly persons on social media and other platforms, citing biblical teachings to support his stance.

He urged religious leaders to intensify their efforts in shaping the character of the youth.

“I will seize every opportunity to speak the truth to the youth,” Pastor Edusei said. “Unfortunately, many churches have deviated from their core mandate, prioritizing entertainment over imparting Christian values.”

The congress, themed “Rising to New Levels for Global Impact,” also marked the launch of Elevation 2025 where students have gathered at Brofoyedu for the conference, which is expected to end on Sunday October 12.
