From washing a head full of lice to detangling chunks of hair knots, three hairdressers share their most terrifying stories.

On the social discussion segment on Adom FM’s morning show dubbed, Y’asem Nie, some experienced hair stylists shared the daunting challenges in their chosen profession.

Madam Sarah Adomako, owner of S Nash Beauty Salon at Bubuashie in Accra recounted how an unkempt hair of a client nearly made her quit.

“I could smell her as soon as she walked and when I poured shampoo in the hair, the smell quickly permeated the entire salon. It was like a punch to the gut,” she said.

The only alternative, Madam Adomako said, was to let an apprentice take over to get some fresh hair.

Also, Christiana Sam Arhin, who owns Beauty Heaven at Ofankor Barrier, said her struggle with a dandruff invested hair made her lose money.

She explained that, due to the nature of the hair, she made the client go without charging her fee because the stench was unbearable.

She said she now prefers fixing weave-on than braiding and washing hair to avoid such unfortunate situations.

Stella Botchway, Chief Executive Officer of Charisma Salon and Spa at Adentan also shared a similar experience.
