The Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP James Annor, has urged residents to deepen their collaboration with the police to help curb criminal activities in the region in 2026.
He made the call while addressing congregants of the Assemblies of God Church – Victory Centre in Goaso during a 31st Night Service.
DCOP Annor revealed that the region recorded several murder and armed robbery cases in 2025, creating fear and panic in some communities. However, he noted that the timely provision of credible information by residents enabled the police to arrest all suspects involved, particularly in the murder cases, and have them put before the courts.
He assured residents that the police will protect the identity of informants, stressing that confidentiality remains a top priority. He therefore encouraged the public to continue providing reliable information to help flush out criminals and ensure the safety and security of the region.
Meanwhile, speaking to Adom News on expectations for 2026, the Head Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church – Victory Centre, Goaso, Reverend Johnson Nuako Nyametumi, appealed to government to intensify development efforts in the Ahafo Region, especially in the regional capital.
He said the region continues to lag behind in development due to poor road networks, the absence of a university and the lack of a regional hospital, among other challenges. Reverend Nyametumi therefore called on political leaders in the region to step up their lobbying efforts to attract more development for the benefit of the people.
