Former Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has called on women to support and uplift one another in order to increase female representation in leadership.
Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM, she expressed concern over what she described as a lack of solidarity among women in professional and leadership spaces.
According to her, while men often protect and support each other despite their differences, women tend to criticise and condemn their own when they are given positions of authority.
She noted that this situation discourages opportunities for women to be appointed to key leadership roles, as internal criticism can undermine their progress.
Betty Krosbi Mensah further pointed out that women are still struggling to achieve even 30% representation in leadership positions.
She therefore urged women to encourage, motivate, and inspire one another, stressing that unity and support are essential to creating more opportunities for women to rise to leadership.
“Women should encourage, motivate and inspire one another so that at the end of the day, there will be hope for women to also occupy leadership positions,” she added.
