William Amponsah has won the first ever Asante Akyem marathon organised by the former Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang.
He won the boys category under 1 hour 12 minutes.
The Swedru senior product caused a major upset at the GAA Circuit in Accra last month, beating some top dogs to clinch 2nd. He won the Kwahu Marathon on Friday.
About five thousand participants including professional and amateur athletes participated in the much publicized 20 kilometer marathon race at the Collins Park at Agogo.
Precious Nyaba from Kumasi Buokrom JHS who made 1hr 31mins 15esc was crowed first in the ladies event.
