Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Ni Armah Jnr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, says he prefers a quiet lifestyle, spending most of his time focusing on his work rather than attending parties or social gatherings.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, the musician explained that many people may not know he is naturally a homebody who prioritises his business and career.

“People don’t know. I am not a club person. I don’t do parties. I don’t go to certain gatherings. I am the home-boy type and focused on my business,” he said.

Shatta Wale added that his close associate Sammy can confirm his lifestyle, noting that he sometimes jokingly argues with friends who enjoy going out on weekends.

“Sammy can testify. We sometimes fight on Fridays when he goes out with Roland to eat fufu. I jokingly say I curse them and their fame. I just want to make some amusement out of them,” he stated.

Beyond his personal lifestyle, the dancehall artiste also addressed broader issues in the country, expressing hope that systems will be created to support people trying to build businesses and create opportunities for themselves.

“I just wish the system can create opportunities like what I am doing. We have political parties come and go, and it seems nobody cares,” he said.

According to him, although many citizens are aware of the challenges facing the country, they often lack a platform or voice to express their concerns openly.
