The wife of Flying Officer Manaen Twum-Ampadu, one of the eight victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash, has delivered an emotional farewell, questioning how to navigate life without him.

In a tribute read at the state funeral on August 15, she described her late husband as her best friend, “gisting partner,” and “everything,” recalling the deep love they shared since meeting in 2022.

“What is this grief, and what do I do with it? Manaen, please respond and answer me, because this silence is too loud,” she said.

She remembered him as considerate, attentive, giving, and loving, with an ever-constant smile and a quiet strength that touched everyone he met.

“My correct better half, my lover, and my best friend, I hope you know I love you more than these words can convey. I miss you,” she added.

The emotional tribute ended with a heartfelt message in the NATO phonetic alphabet, expressing her eternal love:

“Mike–Yankee–Sierra–Whiskey–Echo–Echo–Tango–Bravo–Alpha–Bravo–Yankee–Bravo
Oscar–Yankee–India–Lima–Oscar–Victor–Echo–Yankee–Oscar–Uniform.

My forever and a day. Sleep well, my love. May the earth rest lightly on you. God be with you till we meet again.”
