We’ve kept our promises – Mahama

-

President John Mahama is optimistic that his government has fulfilled the promises made to Ghanaians as part of its 120-day social contract.

Touting his achievements, the President mentioned the introduction of a Code of Conduct for political appointees, the cancellation of the controversial betting tax, the abolition of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy), and efforts toward building a lean and efficient government, among others.

This was when he addressed the nation on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, marking his fourth month in his second term.

The 120-day performance update formed a key component of his campaign promise to restore accountability and set clear benchmarks for tracking governance progress.

“We made promises and we have kept them. Our first 120 days have been defined by decisive action, commitment to transparency, and relentless focus on laying the foundation for building the Ghana we want — a just, prosperous, and united Ghana,” he said.
