
Western North Regional Minister Wilbert Petty Brentum has assured the Regional Police Command of his commitment to providing the necessary logistics to maintain peace and security in the region.
He made the pledge during a visit to the command as part of the West Africa Securities Association celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Brentum commended the security agencies for their swift and dedicated efforts in preserving peace and order, emphasising that stability was crucial for development.
“Peace is essential for development. Let’s cherish the unity we have and work together to maintain stability in the region and the country at large,” he said.
He further pledged the Regional Coordinating Council’s support to enhance the operational capacity of the police and other security agencies in promoting socio-economic growth.
On his part, Regional Police Commander Dr Francis Tsidi gave assurances that the region remained calm and secure, urging the public to have full confidence in the police.
“All security contingencies would be maximised, with personnel stationed at strategic checkpoints across the region. We are fully committed to ensuring optimum security,” he said.
Dr Tsidi expressed gratitude to the Minister on behalf of the command and other agencies, reaffirming their dedication to safeguarding the region.
