Black Galaxies head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle has insisted his side is on the right path despite suffering a narrow defeat to South Africa in an international friendly.

Ghana were edged 1-0 by the Bafana Bafana on Tuesday afternoon in a match aimed at testing the readiness of both teams ahead of major continental assignments.

Reflecting on the performance, the former Bechem United and Nations FC trainer remained upbeat, noting that the limited preparation time made the encounter particularly valuable.

“Because the league is ongoing, we didn’t have much time to prepare, but the work was intensive,” he said.

“This game was an eye-opener, and I believe we are building a strong CHAN team.

“The players performed very well against a tough opponent, and we have a bright future ahead,” Ocansey added.

The Black Galaxies will now turn their attention to the 2026 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, while South Africa shift focus to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off this weekend in Morocco.
