The Wenchi Traditional Council in the Bono Region has announced the death of its queen mother, Nana Atoa Seramangyedua III.
According to the Council, the queen-mother died Friday, June 13, 2025, after a short illness, aged 95.
Addressing a news conference at Wenchi, Nana Owusu Ameyaw Ababio, the Abakomahene of Wenchi Traditional Area, said the late Paramount queen mother was enstooled on 7th January, 1977 and reigned for 48 years
She was known in private life as Abena Nsia Boatemaa and she was the sixth child of her late parents.
Nana Ababio, who doubles as the family head of Ahenfie Yefiri Royal Family, announced that the one-week observation has been scheduled for 25th July, 2025, at the forecourt of the Wenchi Traditional Council.
Residents within the Wenchi traditional area have therefore been instructed to wear black or red atire to mourn the late queen.
