Hearts of Oak coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has called on his players to sharpen their finishing as the Ghana Premier League season progresses.
The Phobian Club has struggled in front of goal, netting just nine times in 12 matches. Ahead of their Matchday 13 clash with Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Dramani emphasized the need for more clinical play.
“I think that we need to play more decisively in key areas [and] we need to try to control the opponents in terms of their long balls and picking the second ball situations and making use of the created opportunities and so we need to be very clinical in the final third and also be able to tame the opponent in their transitional play,” he told Hearts TV.
The coach also reflected on Hearts’ surprising 1-0 FA Cup defeat to lower-division side True Life FC, describing the result as disappointing but insisting the team will recover.
“I think we have been upfront with each other in terms of what we didn’t do right in Wednesday’s FA Cup match [against True Life FC], especially those who had the opportunity to play, and so we all agreed that we have the responsibility to bounce back. Nobody should tell you this,” he said.
“We also have the aspect of reflecting on the outcomes and also forge ahead to pick lessons and the learning parts and focus on our strengths,” Dramani added.
