Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has voiced his frustration following his side’s narrow defeat to Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians were beaten 1-0 at the TNA Park on Sunday in a Matchday 17 encounter that saw the hosts extend their grip at the top of the table.
After a tightly contested and goalless first half, Salim Adams struck in the 74th minute to settle the game in Medeama’s favour. The goal proved decisive as Hearts were left to rue missed opportunities.
Speaking after the match, Dramani insisted his team did enough to earn at least a point.
“I don’t think the better team won. We didn’t deserve to lose today against Medeama SC,” he said.
“We controlled the greater part of the game; they also had their moment, and I think they scored a very beautiful goal,” the former Black Stars assistant coach added.
The former Black Stars assistant coach, however, admitted that his side’s struggles in front of goal continue to undermine their performances.
“Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem. You saw the chance we had in the first half and the one in the second half. These chances you don’t miss them, but we’re still in work in progress.”
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak fifth on the league table with 28 points. They will look to bounce back when they face Hohoe United in the Matchday 18 fixtures.
