Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has accepted his side’s 1–0 defeat to Aduana FC, praising the visitors for their disciplined defensive display.
The Dormaa-based outfit secured all three points at the Kpando Sports Stadium in the Matchday 14 encounter, with Patrick Mensah’s solitary strike ending Heart of Lions’ unbeaten home run.
Speaking after the match, Hayford admitted that although his players put in a strong effort, the result did not go their way.
“This is how football is. We did everything. I will give credit to the defenders of Aduana FC,” the veteran Ghanaian tactician said.
“They defended gallantly, and I’m not surprised by their position on the table. Congratulations to them,” he added.
The defeat leaves Heart of Lions third on the Ghana Premier League standings with 23 points.
Hayford will now shift focus to Matchday 15, where Heart of Lions travel to face FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex as they look to return to winning ways.
