The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has stressed that appointments under the party are based on competence rather than tribal considerations.
Speaking during his “Thank You Tour” of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said the NDC remains committed to inclusiveness, insisting that all Ghanaians are considered equally for opportunities in government.
According to him, individuals are given positions based on their ability to contribute to national development, not their ethnic background.
“We are not selective. Whoever deserves the position will be rewarded regardless of where they come from,” he stated.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia also dismissed claims that the party sidelines certain ethnic groups, particularly Asantes, describing such assertions as unfounded.
He argued that competence and hard work remain the guiding principles for appointments.
