We are launching an initiative to train and certify house rental agent – A/R rent control

The Ashanti Regional Rent Control Department is set to launch an initiative to train individuals to become certified house rental agents.

According to the department, the move aims to eliminate unscrupulous “Goro House Agents” who have been exploiting clients.

In an exclusive interview, Mr. Paul Kofi Appiah, Principal Rent Manager and Public Relations Officer, explained that the training will help curb the practice of unauthorized and exorbitant commissions charged by some agents.

Upon completion, trainees will receive a certificate and be stationed in various communities to assist accommodation seekers, providing a more transparent and regulated rental process.

“The certified house agents will help streamline the house rental process, making it easier for individuals to find houses or rooms to rent without facing challenges”, he said.
