Two people have reportedly been shot after gunmen opened fire on a bus traveling from Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region to Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred near Walewale township on Tuesday, December 16. The injured, identified as the driver and a passenger, are currently receiving treatment at Walewale Hospital.
The bus, operated by Great Imperial Express and bearing registration number GY 3199-21, is believed to have been targeted in connection with local tensions in the area.
The police have confirmed the attack and are investigating the motive while working to identify the perpetrators.
