Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Rachel Appoh, has appealed to delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritise loyalty in the party’s upcoming internal elections, stressing that committed and faithful members are crucial to the party’s growth and long-term success.

According to her, unity and loyalty must remain at the centre of the party’s internal processes as it prepares for future electoral contests, particularly the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Accra-based CTV’s Oman Ghana Nkosuo Programme, the former Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central expressed confidence that the NDC would reclaim the constituency’s parliamentary seat in 2028.

She urged party supporters in the area to close ranks and work collectively to win back the seat, which the party lost in the 2012 general elections.

Hon. Appoh also noted that electoral victory ultimately depends on the will of the electorate, underscoring the need for party leaders and aspirants to remain closely connected to the grassroots.

Meanwhile, the NDC has released a proposed timetable for its 2026 constituency, regional, and national elections, setting the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested internal electoral process.

Under the timetable, constituency nominations will open from September 15 to September 17, 2026, with elections scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026.

Regional elections will follow, with nominations opening on October 6, 2026, and elections slated for November 14 and 15, 2026. Regional youth and women elections are scheduled for November 13, 2026.

At the national level, nominations will open from October 20 to October 21, 2026. The Youth and Women Conference will be held on December 12, 2026, while the National Congress is scheduled for December 19, 2026.
