General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged the people of the Oti region to resist attempts by anyone to disenfranchise them in the Ghana card registration.
“You must at all cost register for the Ghana card and don’t let anybody disenfranchise you because of your identity or what the person thinks of,” Mr Nketia urged.

According to General Mosquito, as he is popularly known in political circles, the Ghana Card is of utmost importance to him and he expects the people of the Oti region to also treat it as such.
Addressing the people of the region during a tour with the flagbearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama, Asiedu Nketia urged the people to resist attempts by the officials of the National Identification Authority (NIA) to stop them from registering for the card.

“We always think card registrations in Ghana are for elections but that is not the case. It is for you to be able to prove that you are a citizen of Ghana so I want you to duly partake,” he advised.
“Regardless of your root, once you are in Ghana, you are a citizen and must take advantage of the on-going Ghana Card registration and not to be left out,” he added.
