Ex-president Jerry John Rawlings snubbed the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Mr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije prior to the commencement of the State of the Nation Address by HE John Dramani Mahama on Thursday.
In a video which has gone viral, the AMA boss – who won the Ablekuma South seat in the December 7 polls – is seen hurrying to engage the former President in a conversation while they climbed the stairs leading into Parliament but Mr Rawlings only responded to his greeting and asked him to step aside in a polite, non-verbal gesture, leaving Mr Vanderpuye speechless.
He had no choice but to watch NDC founder Rawlings ascend the stairs alone while he hang back and put on a brave smile.
