A video showing the last moments of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has surfaced on social media, leaving many Ghanaians in tears.
This comes just days after his untimely demise, along with seven others, in a helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
A tribute video shared by the Ministry of Defence captured the late Dr. Omane Boamah arriving at the Air Force Base around 8:00 a.m., dressed in all white, ahead of the trip.
He reportedly instructed his bodyguard and the ministry’s cameraman to stay behind because the Z-9 helicopter was already full. He then shook hands with the crew and waved as the chopper prepared for take-off.
According to an earlier statement by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the aircraft departed Accra at 09:12 hours en route to Obuasi but lost radar contact and subsequently crashed.
