The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the government to address six outstanding concerns, warning that further action could be taken if the issues remain unresolved.

At the centre of the demands is a call for the removal of the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). UTAG argues that government has failed to respond to a petition it submitted on February 17, 2026, outlining its grievances.

Speaking at a press conference, UTAG National President Vera Ogeh Fiador explained the reasons behind the ultimatum, stressing the need for urgent action on the concerns raised by the association.

She noted that the continued delay in addressing the issues has heightened frustration among members, making it necessary for the union to take a firm stance.

UTAG says it expects government to engage promptly and provide concrete responses within the stipulated period, warning that failure to do so could lead to further action by the association.
