Upper Denkyira East MP launches borehole project to ease water crisis

The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, Lawyer Emelia Ankomah, has cut sod for the construction of three mechanised boreholes to address long-standing water challenges in Denkyira Kyekyewere, the second-largest community in the municipality.

Under the project, two boreholes will be built in Denkyira Kyekyewere and one in Denkyira Nsenseamu. The facilities are expected to be completed within a month, providing residents with a sustainable source of clean water.

Speaking to Adom News after the ceremony, Lawyer Ankomah said access to safe drinking water is a basic human need. She added that while the initiative may not completely resolve the crisis, it will significantly ease the community’s daily struggles for water.

The Chief of Denkyira Kyekyewere, Nana Kwame Nipa II, and the Assembly Member for Kyekyewere East, Kwabena Boateng, expressed gratitude to the MP for the intervention, noting that water remains the area’s most pressing challenge. They expressed hope that the project will bring lasting relief once completed.
