Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has lauded his teammates following their emphatic 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the third-place playoff of the 2025 Unity Cup.
The Black Stars secured the win on Saturday at the Gtech Community Stadium, with a dominant first-half display setting the tone.
Goals from Ayew himself, Nations FC defender Razak Simpson, Mohammed Fuseini, and Lawrence Agyekum gave Ghana a comfortable 4-0 win.
Speaking after the match, Ayew praised the team’s performance, particularly the younger players.
“We approached the game really well. We made the game look simple, but it wasn’t simple, but the players did well, the young players really did well… some of them really took their opportunities and I’m happy for them,” Ayew said.
“They just need to keep pushing and keep believing in themselves and keep putting in performances like this,” he said.
With the Unity Cup now behind them, the Black Stars will shift focus to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ghana is set to face Chad away before hosting Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures scheduled for September.
